Watercolor, 8" x 10".

Christmas Outhouse

Watercolor, 5" x 7". Merry Christmas!

Portrait Challenge

Watercolor, 8" x 10". This months challenge on Karin Jurick's Different Strokes from Different Strokes website is always fun. Everyone exchanges photos and you simply paint whoever you get. So, I have no idea who this is, and she has received my photo to paint- not knowing who I am. I know she has gorgeous blue eyes, though! Check out all the amazing portraits!

Blue Crabs

Watercolor, 8" x 10". My hubby wasn't crazy about this subject matter, but, boy, was this fun to paint. Plus I was talking with a friend about crab recipes, which brought this work to mind. Poor guys!

Western Pa. in Mid-october

11" x 14" watercolor. Went to visit my daughter in college a few weeks ago. Although it was mainly a rainy/snowy weekend, the ride home offered this beautiful panoramic view.

Airport Travelers

Watercolor, 11" x 14". Painted for Karin's Jurick's Different Strokes from Different Folks challenge. Check out the website and see all of great and varied works that are painted from a single photograph that she posts.

The Bridesmaid

Watercolor, 8" x 10". My daughter made an absolutely stunning bridesmaid at my wedding. This painting does not do her justice, but it was a challenge and I want to try painting more portraits. Next up...my son, the groomsman.

Passle of Pumpkins

watercolor, 5" x 7". My favorite color is orange, so naturally I just love pumpkins!

Rooftops

Watercolor, 8" x 10". A painting from this month's challenge photo from Karin Jurick's Different Strokes from Different Folks.

Garden Angel

Watercolor, 5" x 7". A sweet little angel guarding his summer blooms in Ocean Grove.

Wedding Dance

Watercolor, 8" x 10". Did I mention I got married? My first attempt from some wedding photos. My daughter's portrait will be next.

Upper Barnegat Bay

Watercolor, 8" x 10". Late afternoon, Labor Day, on the bay.

No Room on the Beach

Watercolor, 6" x 12". A hot afternoon in July. I turned around from the Boardwalk art show I where was exhibiting and saw just a sea of umbrellas over the dune.

Yum

Another photo challenge from Karin Jurick's Different Strokes from Different Folks. Missed the deadline, but looked like too much fun to miss painting.

Birch Trees

My weekly painting....the birch trees outside my office earlier in the summer.

Hydrengas

The official flower of the Jersey shore!

potting shed

Well, not so daily lately. I got married so I was kinda busy for the summer. Back at it now so expect to see lots more in the coming months!

Ocean Grove tents

Beach Rules

Rower in Lake Michigan

another Karin Jurick's Different Strokes from Different Folks challenge.

Belmar Bridge

Pt. Pleasant Boardwalk

Hibiscus

Scow Ditch, Bay Head NJ

Just did the art show at Bay Head NJ. Sold a few pieces and painted this while I was at it. Some folks wanted to buy it when I was done so if that's you drop me a line.

Moo!

I had to post my cow with the dailies too since I'm not able to paint as post daily as often as I'd like these days. Kinda every other daily now.

Poppies

Butterflies!

Coming About

Shadows

I have been enjoying the challenges photos so much, I decided to go back into the archives, and try some from before I was turned on to the site. This is one of last years.

Pennsylvania landscape

Another Different Strokes challenge photo so soon! I was psyched to do it, so I started it right away. Karin submitted it to us in black and white and left the color to our imaginations. Besides, its from my home state! Looks like somewhere around Lancaster....

Madison Ave.

The latest challenge photo from Karin Jurick's Different Strokes from Different Folks. I learn so much from these. Very difficult for me to simplify and not use every detail I see in the photos we use. And to learn when to stop fiddling.

Sunflowers

This little sunflower painting is dear to my heart. It will serve as the backdrop for my wedding invitations, to be held late this summer.

White Tulips

My last flower painting, at least for a while. Time to work on the latest Different Strokes challenge and its a doozy!
Just can't paint enough flowers lately.

Red Horn

What a fascinating sailing trip I had this past weekend sailing our boat from north of the Tappan Zee, down the Hudson River to Sandy Hook. Some scenes just waiting to become watercolors!

Sky Study

Something different. I'd like to do some more of these, the sky is not something I generally spend alot of time on in my paintings.

Pansies

So many flowers to paint! How will I ever find the time?!

Daffodil

From a group of great photos taken this weekend in Cape May. Ya gotta love daffodils!

Diana and Her Hound

Another challenge from the Different Strokes from Different Folks site. I must give credit where credit is due..my fiancee drew this, I painted it. A collaboration!
I saw this arrangement while sitting at my kitchen table one night and was inspired to paint it.
I did this for the April monthly group photo project for Watercolor Workshop.

Magnolias

What a busy time. I found it necessary to take a few days off posting my daily paintings, in fact, from painting almost entirely. I've returned to my job, so I needed to get into a new routine. My first week of full time work is finished, so I can see I can find time to paint again, it will just a bit more challenging than when I was a woman of leisure. Ive been working on this painting in small bits of time, and have decided I need to move on.

See No Evil

Crocuses

I've been on vacation. So may have some southwest desert scenes to try in the future. In the meantime, these crocuses have bloomed by my front door while I was gone.

Mountain Stream

Beach Day

The latest photo challenge from Different Strokes From Different Folks.

Hyacinth

Another flower ready to bloom soon!

Snow fence

Felt a looser painting today. Have been working realism all week it seems. TGIF!
