New Lily Pad

Seemed like time to paint another Lily Pad so here it is.

Height of Fall

I've been working on a very detailed larger painting, so I felt like being loose for a change. So thought a daily would be a good outlet.

Sailor

This one makes me laugh. Why a dog? Well, I put a tiny cat in the window of the victorian house a few days ago and thought that except for a couple of failed attempts at horses, I'd never painted an animal. And this photo of our black lab Sailor (God rest her soul)as a pup was on my table, so....

Hudson River Sail

My boyfriend and I sail on the Hudson, and occassionally we experience alittle boat envy when we see a boat as sleek as this one was.

Different Strokes

This was the latest for Karen Juric's Different Strokes from Different Folks challenge. If you are not familiar with it, click the link to see the photo she used to challenge all of us, and all the wonderfully varied art that everyone submits.

Olives

A small daily today...want to get started on the latest Different Strokes from Different Folks challenge....

Shello!

The shells we were looking for in the previous beach shot "Shell Seekers"

A Rose By Any Other Name

...would be as much pressure LOL

Seashell Seekers

More beach themes...

Fall leaves

Don't know why fall leaves now, but found this photo I thought would be fun.

Boardwalk

Still having some fun painting from photos I took over the summer.

Back to the Beach

something different

A nice pair!

more beach already

Continuing on with local beach scenes since it's still -12 degrees here...

The Pier

Keeping with the beach theme while it's still 2 degrees outside here's a local pier.

Brrrrrrrr

Its 8 degrees this January morning. How could I not be thinking of how I wish it was summer and I was on the beach instead of dreading going out of my house at all? Besides, I live at the Jersey shore...I have to paint beaches. This is Ocean Grove in the early morning...the sun was going in and out.

permanent wave

Furthering the notion of traditional themes...the wave.

Just a banana

Felt like trying to paint a traditional type fruit stillife...only had a banana. Tried to make it alittle more interesting by peeling it alittle. Hmm. Must buy more fruit. Well, its a daily.

Another daily

This daily painting serves two purposes as it was done for Karen Jurik's latest Different Strokes for Different Folks challenge. I think I can rightly count it as a daily painting as I listened to my boyfriend and did not "fiddle with it" so finished it in about an hour. I wish it was alittle darker, as it is a night scene, but I'm happy with the dusky look.

1st daily painting

I've been painting everyday for a while now but since I use my regular blog for news about shows and receptions and such I decided I'd rather post my daily work in it's own spot since not all of it will make it to MY MAIN SITE .
